Western New Year vs Tết — Different Cake Occasions in Vietnam
Western New Year (January 1st): increasingly celebrated in urban Vietnam with countdown parties, fireworks, and fresh cream cakes decorated with "Happy New Year" or "Chúc Mừng Năm Mới" and the incoming year number. Premium bakeries in HCMC and Hanoi prepare elaborate New Year celebration cakes for this occasion. Vietnamese Tết (Lunar New Year): while traditional Tết foods (bánh chưng, mứt Tết) dominate the celebration, contemporary urban Vietnamese families increasingly include Western-style celebration cakes alongside traditional foods. A Tết celebration cake in red and gold colours with zodiac animal decoration for the incoming year is a popular modern addition to Tết gatherings. Contact us via our contact page for Tết-specific cake availability around the lunar new year period. Pair with celebration flowers for a complete New Year delivery.
